Community Café at The Malden Centre

KVA is please to annouce that we will be seeting up a KVA Community Café at The Malden Centre. The café is part of a wider vision to build a healthier, more connected and more resilient Kingston.

Every purchase helps support Kingston food initiatives, tackle food insecurity, reduce food waste and create opportunities for residents to connect and thrive. 

We are currently setting up the Café.

The Opening Times Will Be:

Monday to Saturday
7:00 to 18:00

Sunday
11:00 to 17:00

More Than a Café, A Place to Connect

Whether you're bringing your child for a swiming lesson, visiting the gym, attending a class, meeting friends or simply taking a break, everyone is welcome.

The Community Café is a social enterprise with a purpose. Alongside serving affordable food and drinks, it helps transform food into community value by supporting:

  • Healthy eating and nutrition initiatives
  • Community lunches and shared meals 
  • Volunteering and skills development opportunities
  • Social connection and wellbeing activities
  • Food waste reduction and environmental sustainability

Fresh, Affordable and Sustainable

Our menu will offer a range of affordable and healthy options, including:

  • Freshly prepared hot lunches
  • Homemade soups and salads
  • Healthy grab-and-go options
  • Smoothies and refreshments
  • Seasonal specials inspired by available produce

By making the most of quality surplus food, we can reduce waste while increasing access to nutritious and affordable meals for local people. 

Supporting Kingston's Community Food System

The café is part of a wider community food network that redistributes surplus food, supports local organisations and increases access to nutritious meals across Kingston.
