Agenda:

1. Safeguarding in Kingston is everybody's business

Brad Howe, the new Chair of the Kingston Safeguarding Adults Board and Anita Batish, KSAB Manager will introduce the work of the Board, the new strategy and how the VCSE sector and the public can get involved.

Stephen Bitti and Sanja Djeric Kane, KSAB Prevention and Engagement Subgroup Co-Chairs, will lead an integrated activity based on draft visuals that explain the safeguarding journey to the public.

2. Charity Excellence Framework in Kingston- #SurviveAndThrive 2026

Ian McLintock, the founder of the Charity Excellence Framework, will be introducing #SurviveAndThrive 2026, Charity Excellence's most ambitious campaign to date. Developed in response to the growing pressures facing the voluntary sector, the campaign aims to help charities build resilience, strengthen income streams and reduce dependence on the "funding hamster wheel". Ian will give an overview of the practical support, webinars, toolkits, new AI and digital initiatives designed to help organisations not only survive current challenges but thrive into the future.

3. Kingston bid to Heritage Lottery Fund

Kingston Voluntary Action is looking to make a bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund to attract funds to our borough to distribute small grants - up to £2,500 for groups participating in the scheme.

We would like to engage with you at the Forum and hear your thoughts and ideas about what themes we might focus on that would meet HLF’s principles for funding under ‘heritage’ (anything from the past that you value and want to pass onto future generations) so we can gauge the level of interest in this proposal. The session will be led by Eneida Capaldi, KVA’s VCSE Sector Development Manager and John Mikucki, KVA’s Funding Officer.
