Co-producing Connected Kingston

Connected Kingston is a social prescribing project, that aims to help people (Royal Borough of Kingston residents) feel more involved in their community, meet new people and make some changes to improve their health and wellbeing.

Social prescribing as a model for improved heatlh

Social prescribing is a process to help people make positive changes in their lives and within their communities by linking people to volunteers, activities, voluntary and community groups and public services that help them to:

  • feel more involved in their community
  • meet new people
  • make some changes to improve your health and wellbeing

We see this as a way for sectors in Kingston to collaborate and offer our residents the holistic support they need to lead healthy and happy lives.

Through the use of trained ‘Connected Kingston Champions’ to sign post residents to services and activities and the availability of the  Connected Kingston online referral tool, the project will link people to a wide variety of advice, activities and support including:

  • Volunteering opportunities

  • Social activities

  • Support and self help groups

  • Physical activities

  • Managing your money

  • Community transport

Designing through co-production

To date we have co-produced the development and design of the Connected Kingston project. We involved over 30 local  voluntary and community organisations and well over 100 residents and representatives from statutory and health services.

... And the co-production is ongoing until March 2019

If you have any ideas, want to make a suggestion or highlight a change to be made, use the link on the home page of the website to let the Connected Kingston production team know.  We are currently very focused on refining the search for the digital tool - so if you find anomalies as you search just drop us note via the link on the home page.
