Kingston Voluntary Action is an infrastructure organisation that provides a wide range of support to the voluntary sector. We support local charities and community groups at all stages of their development.

Our goal is to lead and support a strong and healthy local voluntary sector that actively collaborates to improve the opportunities and quality of life for residents and the community.

Our capacity building services are available to all charities and community groups in the Kingston borough.

'Capacity building is whatever is needed to bring a nonprofit to the next level of operational, programmatic, financial, or organisational maturity, so it may more effectively and efficiently advance its mission into the future'.
National Council of Nonprofits

We offer support for setting up and registering a charity, fundraising, financial management, one-to-one support, and a wide range of training and online tools, among other services.

We take pride in excellence and quality.

In 2024, we delivered a pilot Capacity Building programme. Please watch the KVA Capacity Building Programme Video and read the REPORT: Pilot Capacity Building Training Programme for Kingston 2024.

Following the success of last year's Capacty Building Programme, we are thrilled to announce the launch of a new, revised and improved support programme designed specifically for voluntary and community sector organisations: Thriving in a Tough Environment Programme.
