Peer support group session for London chairs

Are you keen to talk though issues with other chairs who share similar challenges and can share experiences and ideas? Do you want to build a network of chairs who you can chat to? Our face-to-face peer support group sessions based in London, are designed to offer you support and help you build a network of chairs you can call on for ideas, and encouragement.
This month the session will be chaired by the co-chairs of Board Racial Diversity UK:
Case study theme:
Co-chairs of a new charity come together for the first time, needing to not only build their board, but also develop a strategy for a sustainable future. With their inspirational founder stepping away, how do they keep momentum? What if funding runs out? When does succession planning start?
Lena Bheeroo Bio:
Lena is Head of Decolonisation, Anti-Racism & Equity at Bond, leading work to embed anti-racism and decolonial practice across international development. She is co-author of Racism, Power and Truth report centring racially minoritised peoples experiences , Justice-Led Approaches to Global Development, and This is the Work, a resource supporting policy and advocacy staff to centre equity in influencing.
In her work as a facilitator, speaker and activist, Lena has worked across the UK, Africa and Asia, convening governments, donors, INGO CEOs and civil society on issues from funding, reparations and safeguarding to civic space, governance and leadership. She is Co-Chair of Board Racial Diversity UK, a trustee of EachOther, a working group member of the BIPOC collective The Racial Equity Index and an organiser with the UK-focused grassroots movement #CharitySoWhite.
Her work centres care, justice and inclusion, challenging systemic inequities and supporting lasting, collective transformation across the sector.
Dalton Leong Bio:
Dalton had overlapping careers in both the financial services and not-for-profit sectors, including three decades in governance roles and 21 years in CEO roles. He now has a non-executive portfolio, including being a trustee of the National Emergencies Trust and Co-Chair of Board Racial Diversity UK. He is driven by taking an equitable, diverse and inclusive approach in everything he does.

ACCESS – Level access is available throughout the ground floor area where the meeting takes place. FACILITIES – Male, female and gender inclusive accessible toilets are available. TRANSPORT LINKS - London Bridge station or Bermondsey tube station are just 10 minutes walk away and have level-access facilities.
