The London Community Energy Fund by Greater London Authority (GLA)

Grants range from £10,000 to £60,000.

The London Community Energy Fund was started in 2017 to help local Community Energy groups to continue developing projects in the areas of green energy, carbon reduction and energy efficiency. A total of up to £630,000 is available across 3 funding streams:

Funding is for projects that support the following aims:

  • Reduce greenhouse gas emissions in London.
  • Lead to collective action to reduce, manage, and generate energy.
  • Promote community-led development and delivery of energy projects that provide direct benefit to the local community.
  • Increase community awareness and action on clean energy.
  • Increase the resilience of communities vulnerable to the impacts of climate change and high energy costs.

There are 3 streams of funding

Stream one – Feasibility grants of up to £10,000 per project.

Stream two – Development grants of up to £10,000 per project.

Stream three – Delivery grants of up to a third of the capital value of the project (capped at £60,000. At least 66.67% of the total capital expenditure is required as match funding

Funding is open to: Registered charities; Community and voluntary groups; Cooperatives; Faith and equality groups; Social enterprises; Community Interest Companies (CICs);Community Benefit Societies; Tenants and Residents' Associations, or Tenant Management Associations (TMOs); Housing associations; and Schools working with community groups.

How To Apply

The deadline for applications is 7 December 2025 (23:59).

Successful applicants will be notified in February 2026.
