foodinequality

Thank you to everyone who joined the Good Food Group meeting and KVA’s Surplus to Supper Hub celebration at the Malden Centre on Monday 2 March 2026. The energy, commitment, and collaboration on display made it a truly memorable day.

Bringing together so many dedicated organisations from across Kingston - all working to ensure everyone in our borough can access good, healthy food - was a powerful reminder of what community looks like in action. The room was filled with passion, expertise, and a shared determination to tackle food inequality.

The Good Food Group heard from Feeding Britain and Square 1 Café, and members shared the many ways their organisations are working to combat food inequality locally.
KVA’s Surplus to Supper Hub Celebration brought people together over a delicious lunch and featured reflections from Emma Idris alongside inspiring speakers who have been part of the Hub’s first six months and who understand the challenges around food access for many people.

So many people contribute to this work - quietly, consistently, and with deep care for our community. Whether you are currently involved or have ever been part of the Good Food Group or KVA’s Surplus to Supper Hub, we are truly grateful for everything you do. Your commitment is what makes progress possible.
