About the programme

The Mentoring and Mental Health Support Programme builds on the Mayor’s New Deal for Young People and aims to strengthen the mentoring and youth sector across London. Through dedicated training and support, the programme will help volunteer mentors and youth professionals develop the confidence and skills they need to better support young people’s mental health and emotional wellbeing.

It will also support the Mayor’s wider ambition to deliver 250,000 positive opportunities for young Londoners.

Eligibility and funding

  • Voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations with strong knowledge of youth work, mentoring and mental health can apply.
  • A grant of up to £140,000 is available for 12 months' delivery of this pilot programme, with an option retained for extended delivery until March 2028 (subject to decision and available budget).

Please see the Funding Prospectus for more information about eligibility.
