Background

The London Communities Micro Grant Fund is available to grassroots organisations that are already making a difference in their communities. The Fund is awarding grants to support wellbeing, resilience and belonging across London. Grants are of up to £5,000.

This is a public mental health partnership to ensure all Londoners have an equal opportunity for good mental health and wellbeing; ensuring everyone living or working in London is treated fairly and can live a happy and healthy life.

The Fund is being delivered by Groundwork London. It is commissioned by Thrive LDN with support and funding from the Mayor of London.

Priority groups for funding:

• Small charities and voluntary organisations
• Community groups and networks
• Faith-based organisations
• Community Interest Companies (CICs)
• Mutual aid and peer support groups
• Informal or unconstituted groups with suitable arrangements to receive funding

Funding available

Up to £2,000 for organisations with an annual turnover below £300,000

Up to £5,000 for organisations with an annual turnover below £500,000

What can be funded?

• Existing community activities and services such as:
• Mental wellbeing and resilience
• Community connection and belonging
• Social inclusion and participation
• Peer support and community networks
• Arts, culture and creative wellbeing activities
• Safe spaces and community events

• Informal or unconstituted groups with suitable arrangements to receive funding

This fund is intended to support and strengthen existing community activity. Funding is not available for entirely new initiatives. Applicants must be able to demonstrate evidence of previous delivery or an established track record within their community.

Timeline

Projects should be designed so that the majority of funded activity is delivered and reported on by 14 December 2026.

Successful applicants will be required to submit a monitoring report detailing activities delivered, participant numbers and outcomes achieved. Grant payments will be made on a 75% upfront / 25% in arrears basis.
