Healthy Weight Programme Grants

 
The funding

As part of their healthy weight programme, NHS South West London are looking to offer small grants to voluntary sector groups to host ‘community conversations’ with up to 10 local residents living with overweight/obesity each.
 
Eight £500 grants are available in South West London:
 
  • 2 grants for VCSEs anywhere in South West London who can reach and have experience of working with people who have learning disabilities and/or people experiencing serious mental illness
  • 6 grants for groups across South West London (1 in each borough) that can reach and have experience of working with communities in the below areas who we know are often underserved, less likely to engage and/or part of our most deprived communities, including our CORE20 population:

Croydon

Sutton
Wards of interest: The Wrythe
Communities of interest: South Asian, Black Caribbean, Black African and White British communities

Merton
Wards of interest: Pollards Hill or Long Thornton
Communities of interest: Black Caribbean, Black African and White British communities

Wandsworth
Wards of interest: Roehampton or Latchmere
Communities of interest: South Asian, Black Caribbean, Black African, White British and Eastern European communities

Kingston
Wards of interest: Hook and Chessington North
Communities of interest: South Asian, White British and Eastern European communities

Richmond
Wards of interest: North Hampton or Whitton
Communities of interest: South Asian, White British and Eastern European communities

Online information session
An online information session will be held on:

  • Friday 22nd of August
    10-11am

Aims of the grant fund:

  • Gather insights on people’s experiences of trying to maintain and reach a healthy weight (including views on weight loss drugs), awareness of support available/support received and how this could be improved in the future

  • Provide participants with advice/resources on maintaining a healthy lifestyle
A £30 voucher will be given to each participant as a thank you for their time and input.
