Kingston Voluntary Action is working with South West London NHS to help local organisations upskill their teams at no cost. Whether you're supporting mental health, older people, carers, or disability services — this is your chance to invest in your workforce.

What the Grant Can Be Used For?

• Upskilling existing staff through apprenticeship courses

• Access training in health and social care roles, including:

  • Mental health and emotional support
  • Services for older or frail people
  • Support for people with disabilities or carers
  • Other health and social care services

What Is the Age Requirement for Applicants?

• No upper age limit: Apprenticeships are open to individuals of any age.
• Minimum age: Applicants must be 16 years or older..
• Apprenticeships can be used to develop staff in their current roles, not just for new hires.

How Can Applicants Sign Up?

Step-by-Step Sign-Up Process for Employers:

1. Create a GOV.UK One Login
   
   Sign up here
   
   

2. Set Up Your Employer Apprenticeship Account

   • Go through the GOV.UK portal to register your organisation:  
   • Add PAYE details and organisation name.
   • Sign an agreement with the Department for Education (DfE) to receive funding.

3. Enroll Staff

   • Staff must have an employment contract for the full duration of the apprenticeship.
   • They must dedicate 20% of their contracted hours to off-the-job training.

 How to Search for Training Courses

1. Set Up Your Employer Account

   • Go to GOV.UK One Login, if you haven't done so.
   • Create an account and log in to the Find an Apprenticeship Service portal.
2. Search for Training Providers and Courses.

Use keywords like: 

• • “Health and Social Care”
  • “Adult Care Worker”
  • “Team Leader”
  • “Public Health Practitioner”

 You can also filter by:

• • Apprenticeship level (2–7)
  • Location
  • Delivery method (online, in-person, hybrid)
