Who's it for?

Students - please bring your student ID badge, a couple of carrier bags and £5 card/cash.

What's on offer?

The KingsGate Student Pantry is a not-for-profit social venture partnership between KingsGate Church and Kingston University (Staff & Students). Students pay a small amount each visit (£5), and receive approximately £20-£25 worth of goods, from a range of food (including fresh fruit and vegetables, frozen and chilled food, meat, dairy, vegetarian and vegan products, alongside a supply of tins and packets) and non-food items (such as household and personal hygiene items). Items will be sourced from surplus, bulk purchasing and donations.

In addition to accessing the pantry goods, students will be able to engage in wrap-around support including:
  • A warm space for students to relax and build relationships with free refreshments
  • Pastoral support to those who would like to access
  • Signposting to University provision (such as hardship funds, mental health support), church support, activities and other local support as appropriate
  • Recipes and cooking demonstrations of simple, low cost, healthy meals

You can find the Student Pantry by going down the little side street in between KFC and the Kings Tunn pub! They promise you a warm welcome.
