Working with parents and carers who are neurodivergent

Thursday 22 January 2026
10:00 to 11:00

Exploring how we can better support and collaborate with neurodivergent parents and carers in the context of safeguarding.

In this overview session we will explore how we can work with neurodivergent parents and carers in the context of safeguarding, including:

  • Understanding neurodiversity
  • The intersectionality of safeguarding and neurodiversity
  • Challenges faced by neurodivergent parents and carers
  • Effective communication strategies
  • Tailoring support and interventions

This session will be led by Gabriella Russo, who is neurodivergent and has experience of working with parents and carers who are neurodivergent.

This session is an overview – for more in-depth training, including a deeper dive into neurodiversity, understanding the mental health difficulties faced by many neurodivergent families, and how to support families accessing CAMHS, please contact Gabriella.
