KVA strongly condemns the racist violence and divisive rhetoric spreading across our country at this time. We are saddened by recent events and the effect it’s having on the people and communities we support.
We will continue to offer our services and support organisations who are impacted and wanted to share some guidance and resources which may be of help:
Our colleagues at Refugee Action Kingston have shared the below advice with us and we ask that you consider this in relation to all organisations working with people at risk during these times: Message from Refugee Action Kingston: Please can we ask for your precaution if / when posting online about events with RAK you may have taken (or be taking) part in, as follows:
- Please do not tag, or mention, the location on social media for RAK hosted events, or events in which our clients are mentioned – this is particularly relevant to our Community Hub locations whereby they are regular meeting points and so could be targets.
- When taking photos at events, ensure that no faces are visible and importantly, no distinctive location features are visible in photos (for example, a recognisable church windows
