This in-person training is only available to charities and community groups in R B Kingston upon Thames.

First Aid training will now cost £30 plus VAT, which is significantly less than the actual cost of providing the training. We understand that this may be a change for some organisations, and we want to reassure you that if your organisation cannot afford this fee, please contact us and let us know by emailing admin@kva.org.uk. We are committed to ensuring that our training remains accessible to all.

PLEASE WEAR COMFORTABLE CLOTHING (PREFERABLY TROUSERS) AND BRING A MAT IF POSSIBLE AS SOME WORK WILL BE ON THE FLOOR

This one day basic training (9.30 to 4.30 pm) fulfils HSE guidelines and will enable you to gain certification as a First Aider in the Workplace is the Emergency First Aid at Work course.

The course will provide learners with essential basic first aid skills and knowledge to handle first aid related emergencies in the workplace under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. It is based on the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) training standard for delivery of Emergency First Aid at Work Courses. The course is both theoretical and practical and will cover all that is required under HSE recommendations.

Outcomes:

This training will enable participants to understand:

  • Primary and Secondary Survey
  • Basic Life Support and CPR
  • Use of Defibrillator
  • Choking
  • Shock, Bleeding and Wounds
  • Fracture and Burns
  • Unconsciousness
  • Heart attack
  • Stroke
  • Epilepsy
  • Rules and regulations
Trainer:

Ali Levell is a qualified Mental Health and First Aid Instructor, and a qualified midwife. She has practised as a senior midwife in leading London hospitals, and has over 15 years of experience in frontline medical work including supporting those displaying signs of stress and poor mental health. She is passionate about making life saving skills accessible to all, increasing the awareness around mental health, reducing the stigma, and equipping people to take care of their own and others physical and mental wellbeing.
