Disaster emergency commission - fundraising appeal
DEC charities are in Ukraine and neighbouring countries meeting the needs of all refugees and displaced people with humanitarian aid:
- £30 could provide essential hygiene supplies for three people for one month
- £50 could provide blankets for four families
- £100 could provide emergency food for two families for one month
The UK Government will match pound-for-pound up to £20 million donated by the public to this appeal. #UKAidMatch
Mayor's Office for London briefing 03/03/22
The unfolding situation in Ukraine is utterly heartbreaking. President Putin’s unprovoked invasion has already impacted millions of Ukrainians.
I know this is an extremely concerning time for both the people of Ukraine and Ukrainian Londoners who will be extremely worried about their families and friends.
London has a long tradition of helping those forced to flee tyranny, persecution and war. We will continue working with charities, voluntary organisations and council partners to ensure we do all we can to help anyone seeking sanctuary in the coming weeks.
If you’re looking for a way to help, the most effective action you can take to help is to make a financial donation.
Here’s a list of charities who are providing life-saving aid in Ukraine and surrounding countries who urgently need donations.
Any amount you can give will go a long way to helping those in their time of need.
The Institute all the up-to-date information where you can find ways to offer support.
Just published a list of organisations, particularly those that are London-based, for signposting and matching support for those affected by the Ukraine crisis.
The list covers how you can help; where you can find support if you are a Ukranian living in London; useful resources and a list of charity and community support groups listed by London Borough.
