Since 2008, I have had a classic Administrator's role within Kingston Voluntary Action, with functions covering event administration, correspondence, presentation of reports, monitoring supplies, equipment maintenance, finances, telephone work, meetings and Minutes ... as well as providing support to other staff members, as and when required.
I am a qualified Copy Editor and Proofreader (albeit a bit rusty now). I have lived overseas most of my life, which has enabled me to participate and enjoy a variety of voluntary positions working with Cub Scouts, turtles and elephants, teaching, school cook, fundraiser ... as well as taking on the role of concert, conference, children's party and dinner theatre organiser.
I have created and now manage numerous websites on topics varying from health (4 sites) to the English language (in relation to collective nouns etc. for animals), handy household hints, tips and paraphernalia; a safari company in Kenya; a surgery's PPI Group, and on random topics, such as internet fundamentals, photography for beginners and how to play Mah Jong! Now currently building a site for the London Ambulance Service Academy's PPI Panel.
I am a Trustee of two organisations: the newly formed Support and Advocacy for MS CIC (SAMS CIC), and The Surbiton and Tolworth Health Community.
My passions lie, obviously, with animals, design/presentation work, health and wellbeing, and the correct recognition and treatment of volunteers.
What I can help you with:
I can help you with administrative queries about event and training and any amendments to our online directory of groups. I can also direct your queries onto the best person within the organisation.
