Using social media
Social media offer an exciting and dynamic way for voluntary and community groups to create and communicate with people who care.
Unlike traditional forms of media, social media tools enable you to have a genuine two-way conversation with networks who share common interests, and build relationships with people that can help you achieve your aims.
There are a range of tools you can use to communicate with your current and future audiences. Some of them you may be using already to stay in touch with family and friends, such as the social networking website Facebook, or photo-sharing website Flickr.
If you would like to find out more about using social media for your organisation, KVA runs the following courses in partnership with Superhighways:
- Ready, steady, tweet: Twitter for beginners
- Social media for fundraising
- Facebook page essentials for non-profits
These courses will be particularly helpful for groups who already have a Localgiving.com fundraising webpage funded by KVA.
If you are interested in attending a future course, please email Sorrel Parsons.
You can click on the links on the right of this page to download useful social media and fundraising resources, many of which have been provided by Localgiving.com
