Love Kingston is Kingston Voluntary Action's exciting, unique campaign to raise vital funds for Kingston’s communities.
Inspiring local organisations run by dedicated individuals achieve extraordinary things with very limited resources. Their future depends upon securing small, but vital amounts of funding, to reach communities in need. Love Kingston is supporting five local projects, committed to ‘pathways out of poverty’ and building a Legacy Fund for the future.
The five local projects have been selected for their track record and commitment. They are:
- Hestia: aids women suffering domestic violence
- Kingston Foodbank: providing food when in crisis
- Kingston Churches Action on Homelessness: housing, hostel placement and advice
- Oxygen: supports young people from deprived backgrounds
- Kingston Savers: A credit union for local residents
The Kingston Legacy Fund will support the local voluntary and community sector long into the future. Until March 31st 2015, we shall be able to boost all donations to this fund by 50% under the Community First programme. Donations are invested as part of an endowed fund and the annual income is used to support charitable activity year-on-year in Kingston upon Thames.
Love Kingston offers an excellent opportunity for individuals, groups and businesses to maximise the impact of their donations, and to invest in a long term strategy for change. All donations received will be shared equally between the five local projects and Kingston Legacy Fund (50% each).
Kingston Voluntary Action is working in partnership with London Community Foundation to deliver the Love Kingston campaign. We are funded by the Big Fund on behalf of the Office for Civil Society (Cabinet Office).
Anyone can join Love Kingston and help to make a real difference in our community. Visit the Love Kingston website for more information or to donate securely online.
